The LEAD Movement, always in search of a fresh thrill, figured out how to make its first sandboard. The LEADers designed and handcrafted a board. Right away, they geared up for a Sunday afternoon adventure at the La Paz Sand Dunes…
AND THE NEW SPORT TO TRY OUT IN ILOCOS IS SANDBOARDING.

Congratulations LEAD for introducing this new sport in Ilocos Norte. If CAMSUR is now known as the wakeboarding capital of the Phil., now Ilocos Norte will be known as the sandboarding capital. We really have to be known for something, if we have to successfully promote Ilocos Norte as a tourist destination. Camarines Sur under the youthful and innovative Gov. RayVillafuerte spent millions to build an artificial body of water for wakeboarding but here our sanddunes are already in existence as a natural wonder. There are many possibilities in Ilocos Norte if only we take our tourism potentials seriously, ie. kayaking, canoe, boating ,say in Paoay lake. The govt. and the private sector must partner together with the govt. leading the way. Kudos LEAD movement.

Ha… ha.
Can I Try?

This is awesome. LEAD MOVEMENT LEADS THE WAY!!!!. Harnessing our natural resources to become part and parcel of the tourism infrastracture without building any permanent structure is brilliant. It entails the least amount of investment. If this becomes big, I don’t see anyone building sand dunes in their respective provinces to replicate our success. In other words, this is something we can truly call our own, at least in this part of the world. Truly unique.
I wish I were as nimble as Brandon so I can try it too. It seems that he and his friends are having a lot of fun.

I can’t believe it!!! ngayon ko lang ‘to nabalitaan…obviously, being away from home makes you miss a lot of great things!
I remember the first time i tried the off-road adventure with some of the lead members and friends back in 2006( ’07?). I had a blast!
Sandboarding? hell, that is something i got to try! kahit hindi ko pa natry, i’m encouraging all adventure lovers and everyone out there to check what we’re missing out!!! Thanks Manang Tina for blogging about this and for carrying out the vision and mission of LEAD Movement. Gotta be sand boarding next time I’m back in town.
Congrats to LEAD Movement!
*I’m so glad and proud that you still use the original logo for LEAD Movement.
Will let other people know about this too. Thank you.

Wow, thanks so much Margo! We love the old logo! Brandon wants one — we were just talkin’ ’bout it last night. Reny has turned into a tee designer. Can you make some t-shirts for Ilocos Sandboarding? I’m joining an eco-living bazaar this Oct-Dec. It’s for a cause — green advocacy. Hope we could help create awareness. It will be the first of its kind in Ilocos. Go Eco Ilocos!!!
